I had a recall on the airbags on my 2009 Mercedes C 300 . i brought in the car on the 28 th of September to have the airbags replaced and they replaced the airbag in the steering column and passenger side.7 days later the steering column locked up. they told me it had nothing to do with the airbags....
Bill A. Replied: Tom,We are sorry to hear that you had an unfortunate issue with your steering column shortly after we addressed the airbag recall. However, it is not possible for the airbag replacement to be the cause of your steering column failure as replacement procedure does not affect any of the components of the steering column, only the steering wheel. However, we understand how this assumption could have been made and wish you good luck with your 2009 C-Class moving forward.

I live in Boston but have my car serviced in Rhode Island by Viti for the simple reason outstanding personal service. Even had homemade chocolate chip cookies from my service advisor while I waited for my car which when returned, washed and perfectly serviced was about 20% under the estimated cost!

Response from the owner Replied: For over 40 years Viti has always taken pride in offering the highest quality luxury cars available in our market. We accomplish this goal by putting every vehicle we sell through our own internal quality control process to be sure it meets our standards. A Carfax report is always pulled in advance of us purchasing any vehicle or customer trade. Although it takes a couple days to get this information pushed over to our website, we do make these reports available on our website and by request for any vehicle we offer. Please also consider that we cannot be aware of unreported damage to a vehicle prior to its purchase date. If you look closely at the Carfax for your vehicle, you will see that the damage in question was not posted to the Carfax report until 5/14/2016. This is most likely due to a lag in the insurance companies reporting process or timeliness in resolving an accident dispute. We understand and apologize for any distress this unreported damage has caused you. Unfortunately this was something that was out of our control at the time of purchase. Please know that I am available to discuss this in more detail as well as show you where you can confirm the delay in the reporting to Carfax. We have looked into the issue and have confirmed that the discrepancy you discovered regarding the air vents in the Mercedes-Benz C43 lies within the body style of the vehicles you compared. A C43 sedan has a different default defrost mode than a C43 coupe. This is why the coupe requires the face vent option to be turned on in order to activate all of the blowers within the dash. We were able to confirm this information by referring to page 124 from the owners manual for your vehicle. It is my understanding that a copy of this was included with your service paperwork.
