Response from the owner Replied: John, I am very sorry for the issues you & Elizabeth have had trying to get this resolved. I have spoken with my service manager, as well as my salesperson and will be calling you here shortly. We will of course do what is needed to be done to correct the check engine light that came on after you took delivery. We by no means want to sell our customers a car that has a check engine light or DEQ issue. In fact we have invested in the State of Oregon equipment to DEQ vehicles ourselves but it only goes back 12 model years. Therefore, we do not have the capability to DEQ a 2002 Toyota Tacoma. Normally we would run older vehicles like yours through DEQ prior to customers ever looking at them. The problem we ran into with your deal is that 2002 Tacoma's sell so fast we barely had it through the shop when you came in and bought it. This was the only reason we asked you and Elizabeth to take the car to DEQ. It was from this point on we could have done a much better job helping you get this corrected. I would love to have the ability to put you into a loaner vehicle and send the truck to Toyota for you.
