Beware of their policies.I was trying to get work done on a 2002 Mercedes, I needed a new key made. I contacted the dealership to ask about having a key made for the vehicle, and they told me that no dealership will make a key alone, and the work would have to be completed by the dealership itself....

While we can order a key for the car, the Mercedes-Benz USA Theft-Related Parts Policy requires that we verify your identity and the vehicle before releasing the key to you. This would involve towing the car to our dealership and you being present to pick it up. We cannot control if other dealerships are not following that policy. We are glad our Sprinter Advisor was still there to try to assist; we also suggested the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Kansas City, when asked for another option. We'd still like to extend our offer to let your husband stay in his RV in our parking lot until Monday since he has a countdown, so we can get the vehicle in service when our doors open at 7am.

While it is hard to predict over the phone how long something can take to repair we need to make sure we do not over promise. In your case the model of upfit done to the Sprinter made the repair twice as long as long as we had expected. It was actually reinstalling your hood and not the paperwork that took the additional 45 mins towards the end of your visit. Our team was happy to assist you and get you back on the road as quickly as possible. Lastly, we pride ourselves on providing our customers with quality multi-point inspections. We do this to ensure our customers are well educated on the condition of their vehicle as well as to try and prevent situations like this where your vehicle breaks down while traveling. Unfortunately, the protection plan on the tires and wheels does not cover accident or alignment related failures and that is why the claim was denied. We suggest contacting your auto insurance to file a claim with them for any potential coverage they may offer. While we cannot force an extended warranty company to approve a repair we do understand the frustration of one being denied. That is why we gladly installed the tires at a discounted price and performed an alignment at no charge to you. Our recommendations can include items that are due by time and mileage as well as noting any items that are inoperative during our inspection. It would ultimately be up to you and the third party customer to decide what to replace and/or repair. I do apologize that you were not made aware that a proper pre-purchase inspection can take several hours depending on the condition of the vehicle being inspected. I had mechanical work done on my car- engine control unit, wiring harness and fuel injectors. After paying thousands of dollars in repairs, leaving the dealership the check engine light came back on and then later the car caught on fire.
