Kimberly D. Replied: Monkey D.,I am sorry for your frustrations tied to your recent visit and understand it stems from two concerns. The fuse replacement, though simple, is the correct repair for the concern you are experiencing. The fuse is acting in protection of your electronics and is failing due to some overcharge being placed on it (phone charger for example). Though we felt it was a simple fix we made extra efforts to provide peace of mind, even going as far as providing a courtesy car for what amounted to less than an hour of work. I understand you feel the charges you incurred for the courtesy car were excessive and in bad taste, but we are very transparent with our clients as to the monitoring of our cars and why we do it. It is for the betterment of the program and to limit misuse in order to provide the benefit of courtesy cars to all clients. The tracking of vehicles is limited to cars that go outside of a reasonable area and is signed for by all courtesy car drivers. In rare cases where a client is not comfortable with this transparent program we offer Enterprise Rental cars (at our expense) as an alternative yet value option. I whole heartily value you or any customer's business and make any reasonable attempt to retain it. Had I been given the opportunity to look over the car (rather than repairing it at another facility) I would have been able to investigate the cause and come to a resolution satisfactory to the both of us no matter the cause of failure. Simply accusing us of removing parts on your car for the sole purpose of cutting a wire, when we never performed any repairs, then waiting 2 months to fix it and attempt to send me a bill is not leaving me any room for rectifying a concern. I can assure you we did not cut the wire, but had you brought the car back to me or simply called us to make us aware of your concern prior to repair, we would have repaired it at no cost in order to retain client satisfaction. Every time I take my car in for service they have new suggestions for maintenance. I went and got a second opinion and the second opinion said you don't need to change any of those things. So disappointed, I will never go back there again.

Replied: Hello Vartoosh,The check engine light code P2188 is a generic fault code for a check engine light, it does not distinguish what type of repair will be required to correct the malfunction on your vehicle. The repair required on your vehicle in 2018 was in regards to your ignition coil and cylinder head cover. From your most recent check engine light diagnosis the recommended repair was in regards to your PCV valve. It also appears your complete maintenance service is over 900 days past due. It appears your vehicle came in on two different occasions for two different unrelated concerns. The repair we made in 2018 comes with a 2 year parts warranty on those specific parts only. It will not cover any unrelated repairs, which appears to be the case in the circumstances you brought up in your review. Since the loaner car is provided by the Service Department that is correct you must return the loaner within Service Department hours. Upon review of the loaner car contract it does clearly state the date and time that the courtesy vehicle is due back.The time does state 7pm on the contract. One of the worst experience I have ever had in a dealership. This place is cold and unwelcoming. All talk and no action. I have been leasing cars for the past 25 years. I have never seen such lack of care or concern about a customer at a dealership. Would not go back if they gave me a free car.

Let me start by saying our call center representatives at both dealerships only quote starting costs over the phone. You get complete pricing on your entire service once you arrive at the dealership and the Service Advisor can look up the exact pricing for your vehicle based on your VIN and mileage. Since your last 40k B-service in February 2017 there has been a bit of a price increase, we do our best to keep our pricing competitive and close to most dealership pricing within our region. Keep in mind not all pricing will be the same at every dealership, as well as different and monthly changing service specials. I looked up the pricing for the 60k service for your specific vehicle for both Laguna and Foothill Ranch, the price difference for the 60k service between the two dealerships is about $164.69. The price difference between the spark plug service between the two dealerships is about $76.29.I am sorry to hear your visit with us today resulted the way that it did. The availability of these parts is not controlled on a dealership level, they are provided by the MBUSA Corporate office. If you have the VIN we can contact MBUSA Corporate to try and obtain an exact ETA of the parts for your vehicle.In regards to the pricing, we have upfront pricing of the exact service you need when you provide a VIN and vehicle mileage. Some other dealerships just quote a starting cost and add on recommended service items when you arrive for the service. We choose to be upfront in all our pricing, no hidden add on fees. Yes, it is always best to do price comparing when calling different dealerships for service. When doing so it is always best to ask each dealership what is included in the service they are quoting for you. So an A or B service may differ in price from dealership to dealership, but also the items included in the service may not include all recommended items for your specific vehicle base on its mileage and age.Thank you and we hope this gives clarity to your concerns. In regards to the tire, upon inspection we were able to confirm there was a puncture to the tire and there was found to be no defect in the tire. That is the reason there was no coverage on the tire. Due to the limited staff we have on hand on Saturdays we are unable to shuttle customers or deliver cars as we would normally do during the week. It appears that the reason for your dissatisfaction were due to circumstances that were beyond the dealerships and Joshs control. In regards to the tire, upon inspection we were able to confirm there was a puncture to the tire and there was found to be no defect in the tire. That is the reason there was no coverage on the tire. Due to the limited staff we have on hand on Saturdays we are unable to shuttle customers or deliver cars as we would normally do during the week. It appears that the reason for your dissatisfaction were due to circumstances that were beyond the dealerships and Joshs control. While we do attempt to provide the best service to our clients there are circumstances that arise that prevent us from meeting a client's expectations at times. Per our phone conversation I think many things occurred that made the experience lackluster, some of which were in our control and many that were not. My staff did act as needed regarding the loaner policy, and even though your car was in route and arrived at 10pm, it needed to be present before we could release a loaner. This policy is in place to protect our fleet for all of our client's usage. I do wish the delivery of that policy was done in a manner more fitting of our brand and will do everything within my power to improve upon that due to your valuable input. I am also working with Tarek and Devin to provide the needed updates for the car's repair. The type of failure that has occurred requires an unusually long lead time for parts and a complicated diagnosis to confirm correct repair. Again accept my apologies for your frustrations and I look forward to getting your vehicle back to you in good running order as soon as possible. I whole heartily value you or any customer's business and make any reasonable attempt to retain it. Had I been given the opportunity to look over the car (rather than repairing it at another facility) I would have been able to investigate the cause and come to a resolution satisfactory to the both of us no matter the cause of failure. Simply accusing us of removing parts on your car for the sole purpose of cutting a wire, when we never performed any repairs, then waiting 2 months to fix it and attempt to send me a bill is not leaving me any room for rectifying a concern. I can assure you we did not cut the wire, but had you brought the car back to me or simply called us to make us aware of your concern prior to repair, we would have repaired it at no cost in order to retain client satisfaction. I whole heartily value you or any customer's business and make any reasonable attempt to retain it. Had I been given the opportunity to look over the car (rather than repairing it at another facility) I would have been able to investigate the cause and come to a resolution satisfactory to the both of us no matter the cause of failure. Simply accusing us of removing parts on your car for the sole purpose of cutting a wire, when we never performed any repairs, then waiting 2 months to fix it and attempt to send me a bill is not leaving me any room for rectifying a concern. I can assure you we did not cut the wire, but had you brought the car back to me or simply called us to make us aware of your concern prior to repair, we would have repaired it at no cost in order to retain client satisfaction.
